Picture (single)
Kid Rock featuring Allison Moorer
iTunes/AAC/256 kbps

"Picture" by Kid Rock (featuring Allison Moorer) was released as the fourth single from Kid Rock's 2001 album, "Cocky".  The single peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, number two on the US Billboard Adult Singles Contemporary Chart, and 21 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart.  It is Kid Rock's most successful mainstream single to date.

"Picture" is an alternative country song, written by Robert Ritchie (aka Kid Rock) and Sheryl Crow.  Early pressings of the single's promotional cut feature Crow, however, due to Atlantic Records being unable to obtain rights from Crow's label [at the time], A&M, Atlantic was unable to release Crow's version and advised radio stations to cease airplay.  It was decided that Crow's vocals would be re-recorded by alternative-country singer, Allison Moorer (Kid Rock's vocals were left intact), shortly after the re-recording, revised promotional singles were sent to radio stations.

Though Atlantic Records had radio stations pull the original cut, some radio stations did favor the original cut in favor of the radio cut.  Atlantic Records released a commercial single of "Picture" in 2002 featuring the revised version, to date, Moorer's version can only be found on the [out of print] CD-single.

Note: There are two radio cuts of "Picture".  Radio Edit #1 is featured on the commercial release, which contains a quick intro, while Radio Edit #2 removes the intro.  An explicit radio edit was never released.
