"A Thousand Miles", is the debut single by Vanessa Carlton and was released as the lead single her debut album, "Be Not Nobody".  The single was also released as the third single from the, "Legally Blonde", original motion picture soundtrack.  The single is an orchestral rock song with its arrangement focusing heavily on the piano and an accompanying orchestral string arrangement.

The single was first released on the original motion picture soundtrack, "Legally Blonde", and was released as the soundtrack's third and final single (following the singles "Perfect Day" by Hoku and "Don't Need You To (Tell Me I'm Pretty) by Samantha Mumba).  Early promotional singles were sent out to US radio stations in January 2001, following a commercial single release in February 2001.  The single peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100.

Commercial CDS of, "A Thousand Miles", contained either a live in-studio recording of, "Twilight", or the non-LP track, "Red Ditty", or the Ripe Mix of the song, "Wanted".  Below is a CD-rip of the US CD-single.  The main version released to radio (US and internationally) is the album version.
