Tiffany's cover of, "I Think We're Alone Now", peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987. For its release, MCA Records had the musical arrangement slightly re-worked. This version (known as the Single Version or 7" Edit) was only made available for purchase on the 12" vinyl single (and some rare 7" singles). MCA Records released two commercial singles in the US for purchase, the 7" single, which features the b-side, "No Rules" and the 12" single (below). To date, MCA Records has failed to re-release the radio formatted version for purchase.
The radio cut of the song adds a more pop-rock edge, adding an electric guitar and a heavier emphasis on the percussion. This version was also used in the music video.
